摘要： A first set-up portion (7) in the lower part of one knitted fabric (4) and a second set-up portion (6) in the lower part of another knitted fabric (2) are set up by a flat knitting machine that includes at least a pair of front and back needle beds (F, B) and a plurality of set-up needles (20). A first row of hooked stitches (10) and a second row of hooked stitches (12) that serve as rows of hooked stitches of the first set-up portion (7) are first knitted, and then a third row of hooked stitches (14) and a fourth row of hooked stitches (16) that serve as rows of hooked stitches of the second set-up portion (6) are knitted. A set-up yarn of the first row of hooked stitches (10) and the set-up yarn of the second row of hooked stitches (12) are intersected with each other between the front and back needle beds (F, B), and the set-up yarn of the third row of hooked stitches (14) and the set-up yarn of the fourth row of hooked stitches (16) are intersected with each other between the front and back needle beds (F, B). Thereafter, the intersections between the set-up yarn of the first row of hooked stitches (10) and the set-up yarn of the second row of hooked stitches (12) are held by the set-up needles (20) and the intersections between the set-up yarn of the third row of hooked stitches (14) and the set-up yarn of the fourth row of hooked stitches (16) are held by the set-up needles (20). Furthermore, hooked stitches of the third row of hooked stitches (14) and the fourth row of hooked stitches (16) that are positioned on one needle bed (B) are removed from this needle bed (B), and the remaining hooked stitches that are positioned on the other needle bed (F) are maintained, and hooked stitches of the first row of hooked stitches (10) and the second row of hooked stitches (12) that are positioned on the other needle bed (F) are removed from this needle bed (F) and the remaining hooked stitches that are positioned on the one needle bed (B) are maintained. Thereafter, stitches of the first set-up portion (7) are knitted on the hooked stitches of the first row of hooked stitches (10) and the second row of hooked stitches (12) that are positioned on the one needle bed (B), and stitches of the second set-up portion (6) are knitted on the hooked stitches of the third row of hooked stitches (14) and the fourth row of hooked stitches (16) that are positioned on the other needle bed (F). The front and back knitted fabrics are pulled down independently at the time of setting up.

摘要： There is provided a flat knitting machine in which the knitting yarn is less likely to be nipped between a fixed sinker and a movable sinker. The flat knitting machine includes a fixed sinker 4 and a movable sinker 5. Assuming a direction from an inoperative position, where the movable sinker does not make contact with a sinker loop, to an operative position, where the movable sinker makes contact with the sinker loop, in a swinging direction of the movable sinker 5 is an operating direction, the movable sinker 5 includes a projecting portion 5C at a position closer to a swinging center than a knitting yarn receiving portion 5B when seen from the swinging center of the movable sinker 5. The projecting portion 5C is projected out more toward the operating direction than the knitting yarn receiving portion 5B. When a virtual line connecting a holding point of the knitting yarn 8 in the hook 3F when the knitting yarn 8 is pulled in with the hook 3F of the knitting needle 3 and a holding point of the knitting yarn 8 in the fixed sinker 4 is defined, the projecting portion 5C when the movable sinker 5 is arranged at the inoperative position is arranged on an upper side of the needle bed 2 than the virtual line.

摘要： An object is to provide a flatbed knitting machine for pile knitting and a pile knitting method, allowing pile knitting even when using a knitting needle without a locking hook for knitting yarn.
A capturing up-and-down means 10 drives a sinker 4 to raise the tip thereof upwards in a needle bed gap 1a, capture the ground yarn fed through a yarn feeder between a claw for ground yarn 4a and a claw for pile yarn 4b, and draw the ground yarn below the needle bed gap 1a. The solid lines show the sinker 4 when driven to capture the ground yarn. The dashed lines show the sinker 4 with the tip having retreated from between knitting needles 3. The two-dot chain lines show of the sinker 4 re-advancing to between the knitting needles 3, after the steps of separating the ground yarn 8a and the pile yarn 8b, and being driven so that the tip retreats from between the knitting needles 3 after the stitch formation by yarn drawing with a hook 3a. Pile knitting is performed even when using the knitting needles 3 without a locking hook for knitting yarn because the sinker 4 is capable of capturing and drawing the ground yarn 8a.-
