A directory entry (OE1..Oen) is allocated to an object name (O1..On). In conjunction with complex automation tasks, it is known to program programmable control units with graphic voice applications. In doing this, a problem occurs whereby graphic voice applications of this type make either only the temporal sequence or only the interaction of the objects visible. A novel voice application, particularly involving the use of a sequence chart diagram, is used to display and program the object interaction and the temporal sequence together in a single common representation. To this end, an additional control element (4) is provided for controlling the addressing and the temporal sequence of the object interactions.

This results in efficient methods for repairing broken links, whereby global central administration functions are not introduced.
