    摘要: A modular intramedullary nail includes three nail components connectable end to end. The components are a proximal component (11), a curved, elongated central nail component (12), and a distal nail component (13). An open ended longitudinal bore extends through each nail component. The nail components are connected by corresponding conical projecting (31) and conical socket (27) end portions that fit together and are secured by impact. The connecting end portions have corresponding tooled flat portions adjacent the conical portions to make the connections self orienting. The tool flat portions align upon assembly to prevent rotation between the components and to ensure that the components are radially aligned. A cannulated, threaded fastener (14) provides additional fixation between the components by extending through the longitudinal bore of the three sections. A proximal enlarged head portion (15) of the fastener engages the proximal nail component, while a distal threaded section (18) of the fastener engages corresponding internal threads in the bore of the distal nail component.
