    摘要： A tape cassette comprises a case body 2 having a mouth 7 formed in the front portion thereof, a front lid 13 pivotally supported on the case body 2 so as to cover the open front side of the case body 2, and a back lid 24 pivotally joined to the front lid 13 so as to cover a space extending behind the substantially lower half of an exposed portion of a magnetic tape 4 in the mouth 7. The front lid 13 has, in an integral unit, a front wall 14 covering the front opening of the mouth 7, side walls 16 and 16′ extending backward from the opposite side edges of the front wall 14, an upper wall 15 covering the upper opening of the mouth 7, and a back wall 22 extending downward from the upper wall 15. The lower edge of the back wall 22 is substantially in contact with the upper edge of the back lid 24 when the front lid 13 is closed. The side wall 16 (16′) is provided with two guide grooves 9 and 10 (9′ and 10′), and two round projections 17 and 18 (17′ and 18′) projecting from the inner surface of the side wall 16 (16′) are received in the guide grooves 9 and 10 (9′ and 10′), respectively. One of the two guide grooves has the shape of an arc of a circle having its center at the center of an imaginary circle at one end of the other guide groove, and the other guide groove has the shape of an arc of a circle having its center at the center of an imaginary circle at one end of the former guide groove. When the front lid is turned toward its opening position, one of the round projections moves first along the corresponding guide groove at the initial stage of turning of the front lid, and then the other round projection moves along the corresponding guide groove at the final stage of turning of the front lid.

    摘要： In a tape cassette having a case (2) with a mouth for receiving a magnetic head drum of a recording/reproducing apparatus and containing a recording tape (3) wound on rotatable reels (4) and including a tape run extending across the mouth: a front lid (20) is pivotally supported on side walls of the case so as to be movable between a closed position covering a front opening of the mouth and opened position to uncover the tape run; an upper lid (28) is pivotally joined at its front edge to the upper edge portion of the front lid so as to be movable between a closed position to covering a top opening of the mouth and an opened position to uncover the top opening; and a slide shutter (17) is supported on the case for sliding between a closed position covering a bottom opening of the mouth and an opened position to uncover such bottom opening. The mouth across which a run of the recording tape (3) extends can be closely covered by the front lid (20), the upper lid (28) and the slide shutter (17) when the tape cassette is not in use. When the tape cassette is in use, the mouth is fully opened in response to the movements of the front lid, upper lid and slide shutter to this opened position so as to enable the magnetic head drum to advance deep into the mouth.
