Abstract:
A method of controlling a frequency selection of a PLL used in cooperation with a device of a wireless communication network, such as a Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) network, the method comprising: - receiving a first set of signal measurements; - comparing the first set of signal measurements with a first threshold and, selectively switching the PLL frequency from a first value to a second value as a result of the comparison of the first set of signal measurements with the first threshold; - further receiving a second set of signal measurements; and, - comparing the second set of signal measurements with a second threshold, different from the first threshold, and selectively switching the PLL frequency from the second value to the first value as a result of the comparison of the second set of signal measurements with the second threshold.
Abstract:
Process for performing the Outer Loop power control in a User Equipement for a UMTS telecommunication system comprising the following step: - applying a first estimation of the Signal To Interference (SIR) target in accordance with the value of the Block Error Rate (BLER) target received from the base station comprising the steps of: - receiving (11) the BLER target (BLER targ ) from the base station; - performing (12) an estimation of the value (BLER est ) of the BLER value on a number of N1 blocks; - comparing (13) said estimation ( BLER est ) to the value of the BLER target (BLER targ ) and in response to said comparison, increasing said SIR target (SIR targ ) if BLER est > BLER targ and, conversely, decreasing said SIR target (SiR targ )
Characterized in that if further comprises an additional process performed in parallel to said estimation for correcting the value of said SIR target (SIR targ ) issued by the latter, comprising the steps of : - computing (21) an estimation of the SIR value; - counting (22) the number of CRC errors occurring during a predefined sliding window; - detecting (23) a double condition comprising: - the detection of a burst of CRC errors occurring during said predefined sliding window; - pre-convergence of said first estimation of SIR target, said pre-convergence consisting in the fact that the estimated of the SIR value is close to the SIR target value issued by said first estimation; And, further to said detection, applying (24) an immediate correction to said SIR target (SIR targ ).
Abstract:
A method for tuning an oscillator frequency produced in a radio-receiver chain is based on a slope analysis of a residual difference between said oscillator frequency and a carrier frequency of a radio-received signal (S). Depending on the slope value calculated, a bandwidth of a low-pass time-filtering effective for the frequency difference is increased or set back to a default value. The method provides improved trade-off between tuning precision and dynamic behaviour when the frequency difference drifts rapidly.
Abstract:
It is provided a method for performing mobile telecommunication in a cellular network. The method comprises communicating (S10) between a first mobile communication device and a first base station in a first cell of the cellular network, and meanwhile evaluating (S20) if a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output communication is occurring between a second mobile communication device and a second base station of a second cell, the second cell neighboring the first cell. The method improves the field of mobile telecommunication in a cellular network.
