摘要: A recoil starter capable of starting an engine easily has a reduced number of components and a simple structure, and enables miniaturization and a cost reduction. A damper spring (8) having one end thereof fixed to a reel (3) and provided at the other end thereof with an operation section (11) is arranged in such a manner that the operation section (11) thereof is engageable with a centrifugal ratchet (16) provided on a rotating member (14) of the engine, so that a shock caused by the engine is absorbed by the damper spring (8) and a rotating force from the reel (3) is stored therein.

摘要: A recoil starter having improved durability by inhibiting excessive deformation of a damper spring, and capable of receiving a damper spring with high shock-absorbing and force-storing capabilities. The recoil starter includes a rope reel (4) and a cam (8) which are rotated by pulling a recoil rope (2), so that a rotation of the cam (8) is transmitted to an engine via a ratchet mechanism (10) to start the engine. A damper spring (14) which couples the rope reel (4) and the cam (8) to each other has, at opposite ends thereof, engaging portions (15, 17) radially movably supported by holding portions (16, 18) of the rope reel (4) and the cam (8), respectively, so that substantially the overall length of the damper spring (14) winds and tightens uniformly around outer peripheral surfaces of both bosses (19, 20) of the rope reel (4) and the cam (8) due to a startup resistance of the engine.

摘要: A damper spring (14) having a torsion coil spring-like shape is placed on outer peripheries of bosses (19, 20) respectively formed on a rope reel (4) and a cam (8). The ends of the damper spring (14) are engaged with the rope reel (4) and the cam (8), respectively, so that the rope reel (4) and the cam (8) are rotatingly coupled with each other. A wire member (14a) constituting the damper spring (14) is formed so as to have a section shape in which at least one side is linearly formed, and the damper spring (14) is formed by winding the wire member (14a) into a coil-like shape so that the linear portion (14b) of the wire member (14) is placed on an inner peripheral side, thereby enabling the inner side face of the damper spring (14) to be tightly wound in a wide area around outer peripheral faces of the bosses (19, 20).
