摘要:
A process for producing a carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite is disclosed. The process comprises ionizing and dispersing an electrodepositable resin obtained by modifying a phenolic resin, polyacrylonitrile resin, or a derivative thereof in water, immersing a substrate of carbon fibers and a counter electrode in the dispersion, applying a direct-current voltage between the carbon fiber substrate and the counter electrode to cause a required amount of the resin to adhere to the surface of the carbon fiber substrate by eletrophoresis, molding the fibers and carbonizing the molded product to convert the resin into carbon and thereby to form a composite in which the carbon as a matrix covers the carbon fibers.
