Abstract: An exhaust gas treating agent characterized in that it comprises calcium silicate hydrate particles having an average particle diameter of 0.2 to 4 mu m and a specific surface area of 60 m /g or larger and calcium hydroxide particles having an average particle diameter of 4 mu m or smaller and that the calcium hydroxide particles account for 20 to 60 wt.% of the two particulate ingredients; a process for producing the treating agent; and a method for treating exhaust gases with the treating agent.
