Disclosed is a method of connecting an electric lamp socket and at least one electric wire (W). The electric lamp socket comprises first and second parts (21A,21B,22A,22B) which are adapted to be fitted and locked together. The first part (21A,22A) has at least one wire-receiving surface (27) and the second part has a wire-contact metal terminal (23K,23S). The method includes the steps of:
(i) locating the first part (21A,21B) of said electric lamp socket removably at a predetermined position on a jig (10) defining a planar wire-laying path, such that the wire-receiving surface (27) lies in the planar wire-laying path, (ii) laying the wire (W) along the wire-laying path and on the wire-receiving surface (27), (iii) fitting and locking the second part (22A,22B) of the electric lamp socket to the first part thereof so that the wire-contact metal terminal (23K,23S) engages the wire laid on the wire-receiving surface (27) so as to make electrical connection therewith, and (iv) removing the electric lamp socket and the wire connected thereto from the jig (10).

A wear-detection probe for a brake lining material comprises: a detection conductor (13) which extends a given length toward the rotor from the opposite side of the rotor at one end in the brake lining material; a probe body housing (11) supporting the detection conductor; a probe connector housing (21) detachably connected to the probe body housing; and a pair of terminals (22) supported in the probe connector housing, the terminals are contacted with the detection conductor when the probe connector housing is connected to the probe body housing. The conductor is either contacted with the rotor or cut off by the rotor when a predetermined thickness remains in the brake lining material due to wear. Since it is possible to exchange probes without exchanging harnesses, the cost for replacing the probe is greatly reduced.

Attaching a bulb socket 20 to the lamp body 10 causes the core wire to be resiliently held between contact members 24D of the bulb socket 20 and the core wire receiving members 13. thereby connecting the bulb socket 20 and the electric wire 30. The core wire 31 makes direct contact with the contact members 24D, and therefore connecting terminals are not required between the bulb socket 20 and the electric wire 30. the number of components is thus decreased.
