摘要: An apparatus prevents movement of a vehicle shift lever (20) out of a park position prior to actuation of vehicle brakes and prevents movement of the shift lever (20) from a drive position to a reverse position when the vehicle is being operated at a speed above a predetermined speed. An actuator (106) holds a blocking member (104) in a position blocking movement of a detent (58) from a park detent location (64) when the shift lever (20) is in the park position and the vehicle brakes are in an unactuated condition. The actuator (106) also holds the blocking member in a position blocking movement of the detent (104) from a (66) drive detent location (74) to a reverse detent location when the shift lever (20) is in the drive position and the vehicle is being operated at a speed greater than the predetermined speed.
