摘要： An electronic device, according to various embodiments, comprises: a memory comprising a file system, and a DB which is configured for managing meta data of an image file; a display; and a processor. The processor may be configured to: after checking a request for detecting information of an image file, detect the information by reading the image file; after checking that the image file for which the information has been detected is a first image file in which meta data is not stored, generate, as capture date and time information of the first image file, the last modified time information of the first image file, which is stored in the file system; store the generated capture date and time information as file information of the first image file, which is managed in the file system; and store the capture date and time information, which has been stored as the file information of the first image in the file system, as the capture date and time information of the first image file in the DB.
