摘要： A mining machine with an operator speed assistant for maintaining a speed that does not require the use of friction-based brakes is disclosed. Friction based brakes, such as service brakes, are prone to wear and tear. It is commonly desired to use engine braking possibly together with a retarder to maintain the speed of a mining machine. The operator speed assistant computes a maximum speed that can be maintained by the engine braking and retarder at the current location using the inclination information.
