Abstract:
The present invention relates to drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices, in particular pen-type injectors, wherein a number of pre-set doses of medicinal product can be administered. In particular, the present invention relates to such drug delivery devices (1) where a user may activate the drug delivery device.
Abstract:
A system for preventing delivery of less than a predetermined minimum dose of a medicament by providing a dose setting mechanism having a clutch ring rotationally fixed relative to the housing when a dose less than the minimum allowable dose is selected. The dose setting mechanism also includes a drug delivery device housing and a dose dial component positioned in the housing and rotatable during a dose setting step. A drive sleeve is positioned within the dose dial component, a spindle is positioned within the drive sleeve, and a clutch is positioned between the dose dial component and the drive sleeve. When the dose dial component is rotated to select a dose less than a minimum dose, a clutch ring prevents the drive sleeve from rotating to thereby prevent the selected dose from being administered.
Abstract:
A method and system for proving a drug delivery device having a variable dose. The drug delivery device comprising a first tubular member and a second tubular member rotatably coupled to the first tubular member. A maximum stop component is operatively coupled to the first and second tubular member such that the maximum stop component is movable from a first position to a second position. The first position defines a first maximum dose that may be set by a user of said drug delivery device and the second position defines a second maximum dose that may be set by the user of said drug delivery device.
Abstract:
A ferrule (400) and a cartridge (416) for use with a drug delivery device (10). A neck portion (418) of the cartridge (416) comprises a first coding feature (417a - e). The ferrule (400) comprises a main body (402) defining a bore (404) that extends from a proximal end (408) and a distal end (410) of the main body (402). The bore (404) is configured for receiving the cartridge (416). A pass through (406) is defined by the distal end (410). A coding feature (420a - e) is provided along at least a portion of the main body (402) of the ferrule (400). This coding feature (420a - e) cooperates with a corresponding coding feature provided by a drug delivery device (10). Further, the ferrule (400) is configured to cooperate with the first coding feature (417a - e) of the neck portion (418) of the cartridge (416).
Abstract:
Drug delivery device and drive member for a drug delivery device A drive member (1 ) for driving a piston rod (5) in a drug delivery device (4) is provided. The drive member (1 ) is configured to be driven in a rotational movement by an actuating member. The drive member (1 ) comprises a track (12) for transmitting a driving load from the actuating member to the drive member (1 ). The track (12) comprises both sections running in a distal and sections running in a proximal direction of the drive member (1 ). Moreover, a drug delivery device (4) comprising such a drive member (1 ) is provided.
Abstract:
A medicament delivery device (1) comprises a housing (2) for holding a medicament cartridge (9), a drive (18, 32) and a drive control means (46, 52). The medicament cartridge (9) has a medicament outlet and a bung (20) able to be driven via a piston rod (12, 14) driven by the drive force of the drive (18, 32) and controlled by the drive control means (46, 52). Additionally, the medicament delivery device (1) comprises a restraining means (38) for applying a restraining force to the piston rod (12, 14), in a direction opposite to the drive force. By varying the restraining force by the drive control means (46, 52) the movement of the bung (20) along the medicament cartridge can be controlled.
