摘要: A mechanism having at least a function of measuring an arbitrary elapsed time is provided, which disables the function from being reset after the function is started, and enables the function to be reset after the function is stopped. The function is continuously held in an electrical ON state after being started, except when being normally stopped. This can provide a time measurement device and method in which an electrical operating state and a mechanical operating state can be always coincided with each other.

摘要: In a time measurement device (1000) having, at least, both a function of measuring standard time and a function of measuring any elapsed time, when a predetermined amount of time passes from a temporary suspension of a watch hand in position during the measurement of the elapsed time, the suspension of the watch hand is automatically released and the watch hand is driven to a watch hand position indicating the elapsed time. Provided thereby is the time measurement device which automatically releases the temporary suspension state in time measurement after the predetermined amount of time, thereby shortening the temporary suspension time and reducing power consumed to drive the watch hand to an originally expected watch hand position at the release of the temporary suspension.

摘要: A piezoelectric actuator has a diaphragm which has a tabular piezoelectric element oscillated in a longitudinal oscillation mode and a flexural oscillation mode. The face of the diaphragm has the disposition of a first electrode for sensing the amplitude of an oscillation in the longitudinal oscillation mode and a second electrode for sensing the amplitude of an oscillation in the flexural oscillation mode. Before the piezoelectric actuator is driven by a drive signal, a phase difference of a first sense signal output from the first electrode and a second sense signal output from the second electrode is sensed. Such a frequency that the sensed phase difference becomes maximum is determined, and a drive signal with a frequency coincident with that frequency is given to the piezoelectric element.

摘要: A piezoactuator has a diaphragm, and the diaphragm has flat piezoelectric elements that oscillate in a longitudinal oscillation mode and a sinusoidal oscillation mode. A first electrode for detecting oscillation in the longitudinal oscillation mode, and a second electrode for detecting the amplitude of oscillation in the sinusoidal oscillation mode, are disposed on the surface of the diaphragm. When the piezoactuator is driven with a drive signal, the phase difference of a first detection signal output from the first electrode and a second detection signal output from the second electrode is detected. The frequency at which the detected phase difference becomes the maximum phase difference is then obtained, and a drive signal of a matching frequency is applied to the piezoelectric elements.

摘要: A clock (1000) having at least a function of measuring the time and a function of measuring an arbitrary elapsed time, wherein when a predetermined time has elapsed after a hand position was temporarily stopped during measurement of the arbitrary elapsed time, the temporary stop is released, and the hand is moved to the hand position indicating the elapsed time. The temporary stop time can be shortened by automatically releasing, when a predetermined time has elapsed, the state where the hand is temporarily stopped, thereby reducing the power consumed to move the hand to the real hand position when the temporary stop is released.
