摘要: A liquid-crystal display produced through a step in which a liquid-crystal composition containing a polymerizable monomer is injected into the space between two substrates and the monomer is polymerized while applying a voltage between opposed transparent electrodes for these substrates, wherein the polymerizable monomer contained in the liquid-crystal composition has one or more ring or fused-ring structures and has a functional group directly bonded to each ring or fused-ring structure. Preferably, the monomer is represented by the following general formula: P1-A1-(Z1-A2)n-P2 wherein P1 and P2 each is acrylate, etc.; A1 and A2 each is 1,4-phenylene, etc.; Z1 is -COO-, etc.; and n is 0 to 2.
