The invention relates to a method for regulating solar energy yield in a solar thermal power station (1), comprising at least one first solar power station section (8) with a solar array (2) and a second power station section (9), wherein the solar array (2) generates solar energy with a solar energy yield, the energy being transported between the solar array (2) and power station section (9) by a heat transfer medium (3). The second power station section (9) is designed for a maximum permitted energy input and energy in the first solar power station section (8), exceeding the maximum permitted energy input for the second power station section (9), is characterised as excess energy and, in the cae of excess energy production, at least a part of the flow of heat transfer medium (3) is bypassed around the second power station section (9). The invention further relates to a device for carrying out said method.
