The invention relates to a method for producing a cold-rolled strip with a ferritic structure. According to said method, molten steel that forms a ferritic structure on cooling is cast into a strip, if necessary the cast strip is hot-rolled in-line, the hot-rolled strip is wound and then in one or more steps is cold-rolled to form the cold-rolled strip. A method of this type permits the production of cold-rolled strips, in which the risk of a formation of an orange peel appearance or ridging is minimised during a cold forming process. To achieve this, the cast strip is cooled between the casting process and the winding process from a starting temperature above 1180 °C, at a cooling rate of at least 150 °C/s, to an intermediate maximum temperature of 1000 °C and is then held for at least 10 s at a maintenance temperature of between 900 and 1000 °C.
