The binding equipment (54) is feedable, at a cover input "IC", with the false covers (64) for carrying out book blocks (28) by gluing the backstrips (32) of the false covers with the binding edges of corresponding text blocks (31) and refolding the pairs of endpapers (33a, 33b) on the respective text blocks.
