A motion guide device is provided which is able to damp the moving block from vibrating in a direction perpendicular to an axis of the raceway rail. A damping plate (8) with a surface facing a surface of a raceway (1) is provided at a moving block body (4). The surface of the damping plate (8) is set to be in contact with the raceway rail (1) or is set such that a gap between its surface of the raceway rail (1) is as close to zero as possible. When vibration occurs from the raceway rail or the moving block, the surface of the raceway rail (1) and the surface of the damping plate (8) come into contact with each other. This brings about change in a spring constant of the motion guide device in the direction perpendicular to the axis of the raceway, thereby improving damping performance for the vibration in the perpendicular-to-axis direction.

An improvement to a ball screw device comprising a nut member and a screw shaft screwed to each other via many endlessly-circulating balls, wherein balls are arranged rollably on a band-shaped ball alignment member at a specified interval and in rows and circulate through an endless circulating passage together with the ball alignment member when the nut member and the screw shaft rotate relative with each other. Guide pieces extend outwardly from the both sides of the ball alignment member and guide grooves are formed along the entire circumference of the endless circulating passage for receiving the guide pieces, therefore, the ball alignment member can circulate through the endless circulating passage without wobbling while guided by the guide grooves.

The present invention provides a motion guide device having an improved scoop section structure which barely induces damage thereto when a moving member is moved at high speed. Balls (13) rolling in ball rolling grooves (11a) of a raceway rail (11) are scooped by a scoop section (22) of a moving block (12) for introduction into non-load ball return paths (17, 21).
