摘要: A mechanically lined pipe 100 comprises a host pipe 5 having an inner surface which is lined with a metallic liner 10, the metallic liner 10 having an inner surface which is lined with a polymer liner 110 which presses the metallic liner 10 against the inner surface of the host pipe 5. A method of making the mechanically lined pipe is also disclosed comprising the steps of: (a) providing a mechanically lined pipe having an internal diameter, (b) providing a polymer liner having an outer diameter which is greater than the internal diameter of the mechanically liner pipe, (c) using a roller or die, reducing the outer diameter of the polymer liner such that it is less than the internal diameter of the mechanically liner pipe, (d) inserting the polymer liner into the mechanically lined pipe, and (e) allowing the polymer liner to expand such that it presses the metallic liner against the inner surface of the host pipe. Reeling and unreeling the mechanically lined pipe may be carried out with low internal pressure without the metallic liner suffering from wrinkling. The polymer 110 liner may comprise regular apertures (70, figure 4) such that gases which are able to diffuse through the polymer liner 110 will not become trapped between the polymer liner 110 and the metallic liner 10.
