摘要： A fixed position remote control unit (20) as used with a movable barrier operator (11) has an externally accessible plug-in module interface (25). This interface (25) operably couples to the link (23 and 24) between the remote control unit (20) and the operator (11). So configured, a plug-in module (40) that docks and couples with this plug-in module interface (25) can receive operating (or charging) power from the movable barrier operator (11), exchange signaling with the movable barrier operator (11), or both. The ability to readily exchange signaling without invasive wiring permits a wide variety of plug-in modules (40) to be utilized.

摘要： A barrier mount system which opens and closes a barrier such as a gate or garage door (14) in response to user generated commands. An obstruction detection apparatus (34, 90, 110, 122) is provided for safety of operation. When an obstruction is sensed, the barrier movement system is inhibited from responding to user generated commands until a predetermined event occurs. The event may be passage of a predetermined amount of time or barrier movement of a particular amount.

Trois relais (130, 131, 132) réagissent aux commandes par l'intermédiaire de circuits d'entraînement (147) afin de connecter effectivement des tensions de fonctionnement de porte aux bobinages (225, 227) d'un moteur de commande de porte (24). Grâce à des redondances dans le fonctionnement de ces trois relais, des défauts de fonctionnement desdits relais aboutissent à des conditions sûres de fonctionnement de la porte. En outre, lorsqu'une commande d'arrêt de la porte est émise, le circuit de commande effectue un test afin de déterminer si la porte est encore en mouvement ou non. Si la porte est encore en mouvement, des commandes de levage de porte sont générées par le circuit de commande afin de placer la porte dans une position de sécurité.

摘要： A garage door opening and closing apparatus (10) having improved operational safety is diclosed. The apparatus includes a control circuit (101) which responds to a number of input stimuli to generate commands to open and close a garage door (14) as well as to stop garage door movement. Three relays (130, 131, 132) respond to the commands via drive circuitry (147) to actually connect door operating voltages to the windings (225, 227) of a door controlling motor (211). By redundancies in the operation of the three relays, faults in the operation of those relays result in safe door operating conditions. Additionally, the control circuitry upon issuing a door stop command, performs a test to determine whether or not the door is still moving. If the door is still moving, doorup commands are generated by the control circuitry to place the door in a safe position.
