A compressible valve is used with a pressurized container for dispensing an aerosol product. The compressible valve includes a valve cup connected to a dispensing structure disposed inside an open top end of a bottle. A grommet is disposed in the valve cup and has an integral sealing portion and spring portion. A grommet longitudinal passageway passes through the spring portion and the sealing portion and is coaxial with a valve cup longitudinal passageway. An elongate valve stem is disposed in the grommet passageway. The grommet sealing portion provides a seal between the valve stem and the valve cup and between the dispensing structure and the valve cup.

The spray device includes a body with a reservoir, an actuator having a discharge orifice, a composition stored within the reservoir that is sprayable from the discharge orifice, a means for pressurizing the composition, and a valve assembly attached to the body in fluid communication with the reservoir. The valve assembly includes a housing, a valve stem slidably disposed within the housing and having a valve bore that is in fluid communication with the discharge orifice, a valve that seals the valve bore, and a spring biasing the valve stem and surrounding a lower portion of the valve stem. The valve stem includes a plurality of channels, each channel having an entrance adjacent a proximal end of the valve stem and an exit spaced downstream from the distal end of the spring.

A container (10) having a curved bottom (12) and base cup (20) which allows the container to stand upright. The container and base cup are fitted together by a mechanical engagement (32) having portions on the container and base cup. The mechanical engagement of the container is disposed within the bottom cone of the container. The mechanical engagement of the base cup is cantilevered from the bottom of the base cup. Such disposition reduces stress at the interface between the side wall of the container and edge of the base, providing for a smoother transition and better appearance. Also, this disposition provides resistance to separation of the container and base cup during drop impact. The bottom of the container may be curved and have a well therein for receiving the contents of the container and a dip tube.

The low combustion product has a chemical heat of combustion equal or less than about 30 kJ/g. The plastic package is capable of containing and dispensing the low combustion product. The plastic package is stable when containing the product and together they have a fire hazard classification of 1 or 2. The low combustion aerosol product may be an anhydrous antiperspirant product.

Disclosed are pressurized antiperspirant compositions comprising (a) a polyol solvent having at least 4 carbon atoms and a hydroxyl group on each of the ≡ and β carbon atoms of the polyol solvent; (b) solubilized antiperspirant active; (c) dimethylether; (d) a low polarity liquid having a solubility parameter of less than about 8.0, wherein the weight ratio of the dimethylether to low polarity solvent is from about 0.1 to about 2.8 It has been found that these compositions are especially useful in formulating clear or single-phase pressurized antiperspirant compositions that remain stable over prolonged periods and that can be formulated without ethanol or aqueous solvents.
