The invention relates to a method for producing a steel component that is coated with a metal protective coating from a sheet steel product comprising at least 0.4 wt % Mn. In order to economically generate a high-strength steel component, while minimizing the risk of the development of metal-induced cracks, according to the invention the sheet steel product is annealed in a continuous furnace under an annealing atmosphere containing up to 25% by volume H2, 0.1 - 10% by volume NH3, H2O, the remainder being N2 as well as process-related inevitable impurities, at a dew point ranging between -50ºC and -5ºC and at a holding temperature of 400 - 1100ºC for a holding period of 5 - 600 s. The annealed sheet steel product has a nitride layer (N) 5 - 200 pm thick, the particle size of which is finer than the particle size of the interior core layer (K) of the sheet steel product. After it has been coated with a metal protective layer, a blank is separated from the annealed sheet steel product and is soaked to an austenitizing temperature of 780 - 950ºC subsequent to an optional preforming step, hot-formed to form the steel component and cooled so quickly that a tempered martensitic structure forms in the sheet steel product.

The invention relates to a method by means of which an easily deformable flat steel product having a carbon content of 0.1-0.4 wt % can be produced in a cost-effective manner. To this end, according to the invention, an annealing treatment is carried out under an annealing atmosphere comprising 0.1-25 vol % of H 2 , H 2 O, with the remainder being N 2 and technically unavoidable impurities, and having a dew point of between -20°C and +60°C, wherein the ratio of H 2 O/H 2 of the annealing atmosphere is no greater than 0.957. The flat steel product is thereby heated to a holding temperature of 600-1100°C in the course of the annealing treatment, at which it is held for a holding time of 10-360 s, so that the flat steel product obtained after the annealing treatment comprises a 10-200 µm thick ductile edge layer (R) adjacent to the free surface thereof, having a ductility that is greater than the interior core layer (K) of the flat steel product covered by the edge layer. The invention further relates to a correspondingly produced flat steel product particularly suitable for hot or cold forming, and to a method for producing components made of such a flat steel product.

The invention relates to a method, by which a component that is provided with a well-adhering metal coating protecting against corrosion can be produced. To this end, a flat steel product produced from a steel material, which contains 0.3 - 3 wt.% manganese and has a yield point of 150 - 1100 MPa and tensile strength of 300 - 1200 MPa, is covered with a corrosion protection coating that comprises a ZnNi alloy coating, which is electronically deposited on the flat steel product and consists of a single phase made of γ -ZnNi phase, said alloy coating comprising 7-15 wt.% nickel, in addition to zinc and unavoidable impurities. A billet is obtained from the flat steel product, which is directly heated to at least 800°C and is then formed into the steel component or first formed into the steel component and then heated to at least 800°C. The steel component obtained is subsequently heat-treated by cooling it sufficiently quickly from a sufficiently high temperature.
