A hybrid prepreg (1) comprises foreign fibers (6) arranged within a prepreg (4), wherein carbon fibers (2) are used as reinforcing fibers. The foreign fibers (6) are arranged at fixed intervals and are in the same direction as the reinforcing fibers (2). The foreign fibers (6) have diameters in the range of 50 - 500 um and the carbon fibers (2) have diameters in the range of 5 - 30 µm. The prepreg (1) can be made by sandwiching the foreign fibers between two sheets of the carbon-fiber-reinforced prepreg (4) and forming the sandwich into an integrated whole. The prepreg can be used for instance for making golf club shafts, fishing rods and racket frames e.g. for tennis.
