The detection and repair device (100) comprises a powder bed unit (2), a repair unit (3) and a detection unit (4); the powder bed unit has a powder bed platform (21), a powder spreading mechanism (22) and a laser unit (23); the repair unit has a processing mechanism (32); the detection unit has a camera (41) and a controller (42), the controller determining, according to image data of the powder bed platform captured by the camera, whether to spread powder or remove a powder spread defect, or to drive the processing mechanism to repair the surface of a work piece (101). Further disclosed is a detection and repair method for powder additive manufacturing. The method, by detecting image data obtained after powder spreading and image data obtained after fusion, can efficiently determine various defects and improve the quality of work pieces.
