A converged system and method for a radiation imaging and a radioactive material monitoring of a luggage or package object (105, 205, 305) are provided. The converged system includes: a radiation imaging subsystem (10) configured to operate in a pulse mode to perform a radiation imaging on the luggage or package object (105, 205, 305); a radioactive material monitoring subsystem (20) configured to operate in the pulse mode to monitor whether the luggage or package object (105, 205, 305) contains a radioactive material; and a synchronization control subsystem (30) being in communication with both the radiation imaging subsystem (10) and the radioactive material monitoring subsystem (20), and configured to control the radiation imaging subsystem (10) and the radioactive material monitoring subsystem (20) to operate alternately.

This invention provides a method for rapidly detecting volatile substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in a textile. Based on the ion mobility spectrometry technique, this method may achieve rapid detection of 11 kinds of volatile SVHCs within 1-6 minutes, respectively, by means of direct introduction of textile samples or in combination with an efficient and convenient solvent extraction pretreatment step. The detection limit is less than 100ppm, which absolutely satisfies the mass fraction limit of 1000ppm prescribed in REACH Regulation of the European Union. This method may greatly shorten detection periods of these volatile organics and enable the possibility to realize online detection for these substances.
