The invention relates to a device for sequentially measuring characteristics of a liquid-liquid or liquid-solid dispersed system contained in a main installation consisting of a serially mounted or derived circuit assembled thereon. Said circuit supplies, at a predefined rate, at least one measuring chamber (4) exposed to a collimated laser beam which strikes said chamber at normal incidence. The inventive device also comprises photodiode-type means (10A) for real-time measurement of a light signal which is back-scattered by the dispersed system sample circulating in the circuit and for converting said signal into an electric signal disposed near the circuit (3). The inventive device is characterised in that it is provided with means for real-time sequential measurement of the concentration of the diffusing particles of the sample of the dispersed system flowing in a circuit. Data on the measured concentration and data received from the photodiode-type means (10A) are transmitted to data capturing and processing means (13) for determining the distribution or spread of the sizes of the diffusing particles in the dispersed system.
