摘要: The present invention concerns methods and system for growing Ti 1-x M x O 2-y fibres, wherein M is a transition metal from group 5 of the Periodic Table, with 0.1 1-x M x O 2-y fibres having improved thermoelectric properties.
The LFZ technique allows the application of various reducing atmospheres in a range of relative pressures such as from 0.1 to 1.5 × 10 5 Pa. The system includes a growth chamber, an atmosphere control subsystem, a continuous laser beam, and an optical apparatus to focus the laser beam.
The present invention is useful for producing said Ti 1-x M x O 2-y -based fibres with high thermoelectric properties, due to the combination of a reducing atmosphere with the growth conditions, which is of interest mainly in the field of thermoelectric applications.
