Provided herein are a control method and a control device for controlling a supply unit, which enable supply of the maximum power that can be delivered by a power source, said method being characterized by the presence of an absolute maximum on1 the curve of the power as a function of the voltage at the connection terminals; the supply system set betwee'n the power source and the load is preferably a DC/DC switching converter. The control circuit identifies the optimal operating point, using the relation existing between the harmonic components of the power and the harmonic components of the voltage at the terminals of the source. Starting from any value of the voltage at the connection terminals, the control circuit increments the value of the voltage if, for a given value of the frequency, the power and the vo'ltage at the connection terminals are in phase, whilst it decrements the value of the voltage if the power and the voltage are in phase opposition. The control circuit can be obtained employing discrete analog devices and integrated analog devices of a widely used type.

The present invention concerns a method, and the related controller device, for controlling an electric power generation system, based on at least one energy source, in particular a renewable energy source, preferably a photovoltaic or fuel cell source, said system operating according to operating performance representable by at least one performance indicative function (P; ΔP) having at least one optimal value (P target ), operation of said system being dependent on at least two controllable parameters (V c , K; ω cmd , β), the method perturbing the values of said at least two controllable parameters (V c , K; ω cmd , β), so as to perturb a first controllable parameter (X; Y) with a same perturbation sign (SX) as long as it is detected that, after each single perturbation, a distance of a value of said at least one performance indicative function (P; ΔP) from said at least one optimal value (P target ) decreases, whereas when it is detected that said distance increases, the method passes to perturb a different controllable parameter (Y) with a perturbation sign (SY) opposite to the sign of the immediately preceding perturbation of such different controllable parameter (Y).

The present invention concerns a controller apparatus with MPPT tracking for controlling an electric power generation system, the system comprising two identical sub-sections (1, 2) of a photovoltaic field, connected to two respective identical switching power converters (3, 4), the two converters (3, 4) being controlled by two respective periodic controlling signals, the outputs of the two converters (3, 4) being connected in parallel, the controller apparatus comprising: - a first and a second current sensors (5, 6) for detecting the output currents (iA2, iB2) of the two converters (3), - subtractor means (7) capable to receive the two current detection signals and to generate a difference signal (iA2- iB2), - amplifier means (8) capable to amplify said difference signal (iA2- iB2) by a constant gain k, - low-pass filter means (9) capable to filter said amplified difference signal, - proportional-integral (or proportional-integral-derivative) controller means (10) for controlling said filtered amplified difference signal, outputting a processed signal, - first generator means (11, 12) capable to generate a first controlling periodic signal on the basis of said processed signal for controlling the second converter (4), - second generator means (13, 14) capable to generate a second controlling periodic signal on the basis of said processed signal displaced by a constant displacement having modulus 0 Δd (Displacement) having the same sign. The present invention concerns the controlling method and the related electric power generation system.
