An electrical penetrator assembly is shown, configured to feed electrical voltage and current through a wall separating a first volume and a second volume, which may have different pressure and/or may be filled with different fluids. The connector comprises a wall or partition having a through opening. An electrical conductor surrounded by a tubular insulator body passes the opening through the wall. A conductive or semi-conductive coating is arranged on the exterior of the insulator body, the coating surrounding the insulator body for a portion of its length, the coating in electrical contact with the wall, wherein the coated portion of the insulator body is shaped to displace the electric field around the conductor away from the wall and reduce the electric field strength around the insulator body by increasing the electric field strength inside the insulator body.

The invention relates to a sealing element (20) comprising a tube-shaped body (26) of metallic material and first and second male sealing members (21a, 21b) formed at a respective end of the body (26). At least two intermediate members (24a, 24b) are formed in series in the body (26) between the first and second male sealing members (21a, 21b). Each one of said intermediate members (24a, 24b) is compressible so as to be capable to store elastic energy when the body (26) is subjected to axial compression and consists of a protuberance formed in the body (26) and extending around the centre axis (CA) of the body (26). A high voltage subsea electrical penetrator is disclosed, comprising a first housing part (1) connectable to a second housing part (2), the first and second housing parts in connected mode defining a seat (5) for accommodation of a bushing comprising a conductor pin (52) arranged in an insulator body (50). The first and second housing parts (1, 2) each has a part- spherical seat surface (8, 9) supporting a corresponding region of the bushing (50, 52). The bushing (50, 52) comprises a material of relatively high compressive strength, in the form of a polymeric material or a ceramic material, which is moulded into spherical outer shape about a bulbous portion (55) of the conductor pin (52), and clamped as a unitary form-fitting element (50, 52) in the seat (5) upon connection of the first and second housing parts (1, 2).
