摘要： A method for attaching the ends of an elastic band (1) to a file made of synthetic material and provided with two covers joined together along at least one fold line. The elastic band (1) is used as a closure means for closing the file when one cover has been folded over the other, and is arranged on one cover (4) that is provided with gaps (A, B) through which the band (1) is inserted and attached. The ends of the elastic band (1) are attached to said cover (4) by ultrasonic welding, and said elastic band (1) includes a material capable of being ultrasonically welded to the material of the file. The method is applicable to files.
