The invention relates to a method for heat recovery for a drying section of a machine for producing a fibrous web (F), in particular a paper, cardboard or tissue web, wherein the fibrous web (F) is dried at least with a steam-heated drying cylinder (1) and at least one high-temperature hood (L1) by way of hot air, wherein the at least one drying cylinder (1) is loaded at least partially with fresh steam (D1), wherein the condensate/steam mixture (K1) of the at least one drying cylinder (1) is fed to a condensate separator (A1), wherein the steam (D3) is fed from the condensate separator (A1) to the fresh steam (D1) or a fresh steam/high-pressure steam mixture (D1,2), wherein at least one part of the condensate (K3) is fed from the condensate separator (A1) which is connected behind the at least one drying cylinder (1) to a heat exchanger (W1) in the waste-air stream (L6) of the high-temperature hood (L1), and wherein the condensate (K3,4) is heated there and absorbs energy from the waste air (L6), is subsequently relieved by a pressure-reducing element (DR1) and, as a result, evaporates again at least partially.
