摘要： A rotary hand grater (10) has a housing (11) which defines a hopper (15) communicating with an open-ended cylindrical grating chamber (13) in which a grating drum (31) rotates for grating the contents of the hopper (15). The chamber (13) is closed at one end by handle structure (40) for rotating the grating drum (31) and at the other end by a removable cap (47). A press plate (55) is movable into and out of the hopper (15) for pressing food against the grating tube (31). A flexible and resilient seal (51) is clamped between the press plate (55) and a backing surface (29) on a plunger arm (27) for sealing engagement with the hopper side walls (16,17,18,19) and cooperation with the handle structure (40) and the cap (47) to seal the hopper (15) and the chamber (13).
