The storage tape (22) is divided into logical sectors (52) which follow each other in the longitudinal direction of the tape and which are each intended to hold an object to be stored. An engaging/disengaging unit (28) is arranged between the roller cores (10, 12) and is optionally adjustable between a position of rest and an engaging/disengaging position.
