The apparatus is characterized in that cam means (20, 21, 22) for driving the ram (2), forming punch (10) and side punch (13) are formed on a common output drive shaft (19) and arranged so that the ram (2) dwells for a predetermined time at the end of each forward and backward movement and the side punch (13) secures the element (E) to the tape (S) during the dwell of the ram (2) at the end of its forward movement and the forming punch (10) is actuated during the dwell of the ram at the end of its backward movement.

    摘要: Disclosed herein is method for assembling a pair of slide fastener stringers (F 1 , F 2 ) each having spaced sections (S 1 , S 2 ) in continuous rows of scoops and an apparatus for the same. The leading edge of the scoop row in the leading stringer is detected by a probe (34) inserted into the guide groove (13, 14) of the binder member (11) for the scoop row. The engagement of the leading edge and the claw (35) of the probe (34) retards the progress of the leading stringer (F,) thereby retarding the rotation of the feed roller (1a) for the leading stringer (F,) while increasing the speed of the rotation of the other feed roller (2a) for the trailing stringer (F2), which is connected to the first feed roller through a differential transmission mechanism (7). After both of the stringers (F,, F2) are brought into right alignment for exact engagement in the binder member (11), the claws (35) disengage from the leading edges of the scoop row in the stringers and come out of the spaced sections (S 1 , S 2 ). In this condition, the spaced sections (S,, S 2 ) in the stringers (F,, F2) are detected individually by detecting lever means (40). Detector means (45) detect the movement of the detecting levers (40) and judge whether the proper interengagement of the stringers is obtained or not so that it produces either a signal to protrude the claw into the same spaced section following insertion of the detecting lever or a signal to stop operating the feed rollers.
