    摘要: The invention is directed to bridged metallocene catalyst complexes that are sufficiently soluble in aliphatic solvents to be particularly suitable for solution olefin polymerization processes such that olefin copolymers can be prepared with high molecular weights and catalyst activities particularly at high polymerization reaction temperatures. More specifically, the invention particularly relates to a polymerization process for ethylene copolymers having a density of about 0.850 to about 0.940 comprising contacting, under solution polymerization conditions at a reaction temperature at or above 60 °C to 250 °C, ethylene and one or more comonomers capable of insertion polymerization with a bridged metallocene catalyst complex derived from two ancillary ligands, each of which independently may be substituted or unsubstituted, wherein the ligands are bonded by a covalent bridge containing a substituted single Group 14 atom, the substitution on said Group 14 atom comprising aryl groups at least one of which contains a hydrocarbylsilyl substituent; and B) an activating cocatalyst.

    摘要: A method of lowering MFR response of a high melt flow rate polymer producing metallocene catalyst is provided. The method includes contacting the metallocene catalyst with a sufficient quantity of α,φ-diene monomer such that when the catalyst composition is contacted with polymerizable reactants under suitable polymerization conditions, the resulting polymer has an MFR rate in the range of 0.1 to 19. Hydrogen and ethylene may also be present in the polymerization. Additionally a catalyst composition is provided which includes a high melt flow rate polymer producing metallocene catalyst and a sufficient quantity of α,φ-diene monomers such that when the catalyst composition is contacted with a monomer under polymerization conditions, the resulting polymer has an MFR rate in the range of 0.1 to 19.

    摘要: This description addresses a process for the preparation of polyolefins from one or more olefinic monomers comprising combining under polymerization conditions said olefins with the product of combining i) an organometallic catalyst compound and ii) a cocatalyst complex comprising a trialkylsilyl-substituted carbenium cation and a suitable noncoordinating or weakly coordinating anion. These complexes exhibit good solubility in aliphatic solvents such that use in aliphatic solution based polymerization reaction processes can be conducted without the use of aromatic solvents or co-solvents and without the need for slurry means of introduction into chemical reaction environments. High number-average molecular weight polymers and copolymers at high rates of productivity were observed from the use of metallocene catalysts complexes when activated with [(3, 5-(Et3Si)2Ph)3C]+ [(C6F5) B]- and used in a hexane-based solution polymerization.

    摘要: Graft polymers containing primary amine functionality are prepared by reacting a thermoplastic polymer containing at least one electrophilic functionality sufficient to react with primary amine groups with a chemical compound having one primary amine group and at least one protected primary amine group. By utilization of the selected protecting groups, crosslink formation is essentially avoided. After grafting of the amine-containing compound, the protecting groups are removed and replaced with hydrogen atoms to restore primary amine functionality in the pendant amine group. By utilization of the selected deprotection processes, the chemical bonds in the amine compound and those binding the amine to the polymer are substantially unaffected.

    摘要: The invention is a polymerization catalyst system derived from tethered, heteroatom-bridged monocyclopentadienyl transition metal compound precursor from Group 4 of the Periodic Table of the Elements. The catalyst system comprises an activated, tethered pair of Group 4 transition metal compounds having a bidentate ancillary ligand system consisting of one cyclopentadienyl group bound to the transition metal and a Group 15 or Group 16 atom covalently bound to the transition metal and linked to the cyclopentadienyl group through a bridging group containing a Group 14-15 element. The ligand systems of each transition metal compound are tethered by at least one tethering group comprising a Group 13-16 element connected at both ends to either the Group 15 or Group 16 atom or the Groups 14-15 bridging group element. The catalyst system can be employed to polymerize olefins to produce a high molecular weight polymer.

    摘要: This invention relates to propylene-olefin (PO) copolymers having unique properties described herein as a relationship of mole % olefin to: 1) isotactic index, 2) % meso propylene triad, and 3) glass transition temperature. Specifically, the isotactic index of this invention's copolymers is equal to -0.0224O+A wherein O is the mole % olefin present, A is a number from 66 to 89, and the isotactic index is greater than 0. The propylene tacticity of this invention's polymers is also described by % meso triad equal to -0.4492O+B wherein O is the mole % olefin present, B is a number from 93 to 100, and the % meso triad is less than 95 %. Additionally, the copolymers of this invention have a glass transition temperature equal to -1.1082O-C wherein O is the mole % olefin present and C is a number from 1 to 14.
