A plurality of hydrants (28) are spaced along the water supply pipe (26), each hydrant (28) having a valve, and a pair of laterally adjacent trolleys (120) are mounted on an elongated frame for movement in two opposite directions, each trolley having a docking station and hydrant valve actuator, the docking stations resiliently suspended from said trolleys (120) for movement in at least three mutually perpendicular directions and adapted to engage and disengage, successively, the plurality of hydrants (28) on the supply pipe (26) extending below and between the pair of trolleys. The trolleys (120) and docking stations may be carried on a mobile cart or incorporated into the linear irrigator.

The system comprises a deflector turbine element (28) incorporated at one end of a cylindrical rotor (26) which encloses at least a portion of the nozzle (12) and is guided coaxially along the nozzle by at least one guide ring (22). The turbine element fixed to the rotor cylinder further comprises at least one diagonal groove configured to receive and deflect the liquid. The rotor or spindle element is configured to spin relatively freely around the nozzle (hollow shaft) and is allowed to reposition up or down along the nozzle shaft limited by the force of the water jet in one direction and a repelling magnetic force (18,20) in the opposite direction.
