According to one aspect of the present invention, a system for deflecting and distributing liquid from a liquid source is provided. The system comprises a dispersing element (28) disposed along an elongated member (26), and a retaining structure (22, 24) adapted to enclose at least a portion of the elongated member (26). The dispersing element (28) further comprises a series of diagonal, spaced grooves (30) configured to receive and deflect the liquid. The dispersing element (28) and the elongated member (26) are configured to rotate and precess relatively freely within the retaining structure (22, 24). The elongated member (26) is further maintained in the retaining structure (22, 24) with the help of at least one set of oppositely oriented magnets (18, 20).
