The baler comprises a baling chamber (20) for forming a bale and a wrapper (30) for wrapping a protective film around the formed bale (100). The wrapper comprises a wrapping area, where wrapping of the protective film around the bale takes place, and a conveyor (40) for conveying the bale from the baling chamber to the wrapper. A second end of the conveyer is adapted to extend to the wrapping area for wrapping the protective film around the bale laying on the conveyor. The second end of the conveyor comprises at least one movable stopping roll (50), which is movable to the first position above the level of the upper surface of the conveyor and to the second position away from the level of the upper surface of the conveyor. The movement of the bale can be stopped by means of the stopping roll for the time of wrapping, i.e. the bale can be prevented from moving forward on the conveyor. In the wrapping area there is at least one supporting roll (60), which is movable to the first position above the level of the upper surface of the conveyor and to the second position away from the level of the upper surface of the conveyor. By means of the supporting roll the bale can be prevented from being twisted on the conveyor during the wrapping with the protective film. The bale can be rotated in its position about a horizontal axis of rotation by allowing the conveyor belt of the conveyer to rotate. The baler may be used for baling forage crops, waste, natural materials and industrial and agricultural side products.

A bale forming apparatus (1) and a bale forming method form cylindrical bales (B, B'). A bale forming chamber is surrounded by a bale forming means (10). A bale (B) is formed in this bale forming chamber. This bale (B) is pushed onto a bale supporting construction (11). This bale supporting construction (11) buffers the bale (B). A further bale (B') is created in the bale forming chamber. One pushing member(24.2) pushes the old bale (B) from the bale forming chamber onto the bale supporting construction (11). This pushing member (24.2) is connected with a holding device (23) and performs a movement on a circular path for pushing the bale (B). The drive rotates the holding device (23) around a rotating axis (25). A pivotal guiding member (28.2) is pivoted into a guiding position and contributes to provide a bale forming chamber for the new bale (B').
