outer surfaces (26, 28) comprising a black color, a substantially reflective property, and a high gloss, wherein the outer surfaces (26, 28) provide depth to the flying insect station (10) and allow for the killing of flying insects staged thereon;
an enclosed cavity (36) adjacent the outer surfaces (26, 28);
an attractant held in the enclosed cavity (36);
a vent (32) to allow a plume of attractant to surround the outer surfaces; and
a spatiotemporal window (i) comprising said outer surfaces (26, 28) and said plume, (ii) located at an exterior of the three-dimensional flying insect station, and (iii) temporally measured from when a fly enters the spatiotemporal window and is killed;
wherein the enclosed cavity (36) is defined by a frame (24) in which the attractant is held and through which the vent is defined; and
wherein the black color, the substantially reflective property, and the attractant in combination create a synergistic effect greater than if used alone, said synergistic effect characterized by a knockdown of at least 88% of synanthropic flies that enter the spatiotemporal window.-

摘要: A sustained release pheromone carrier (10) is provided in which once it is secured to a branch or other support, the likelihood of falling off is significantly reduced, and which is capable of being quickly attached to a small or large branch. The sustained release pheromone carrier comprises a first sheet part (1) and a second sheet part (2) which are provided by bending a single polymer sheet so that they are arranged in a face-to-face manner, the sheet parts each having an engaging hole (7, 8) therethrough; a bend part (3s) located between the sheet parts; at least one sex pheromone substance that is carried on at least a part of the sheet parts; and slits (4) each extending from the bend part to the engaging hole in each one of the sheet parts. This carrier can be secured to the rod-shaped support by guiding the rod-shaped support to the engaging holes via the slits and engaging with the holes.

A kit is also described comprising a plurality of the bait presenting devices and a backing sheet to which the devices are removably adhered. A method of displaying bait, is described which comprises adhering the device to a surface; and applying a discrete amount of bait to the bait contact zone. The method involves applying bait to the bait contact zone until the area defined by the dose measurement guide is substantially covered with bait. Also described are methods of displaying bait which comprise adhering the device to a surface and exposing a discrete amount of bait in the bait contact zone; and methods of enclosing bait in a hole which comprise inserting a discrete amount of bait into a hole and adhering the device to the surface surrounding the hole, thereby enclosing the bait in a hole.

摘要: Hydraulic systems and tools having an actuator that actuates a pump and a control valve are described. The pump transports fluid into a chamber to advance a piston in the chamber. The control valve is biased open and regulates flow of hydraulic fluid from the chamber to a reservoir. The actuator is operable in a first state in which the control valve is open, allowing flow of fluid from the chamber to the reservoir, and the pump is not pumping. The actuator can be operated in a second state in which the control valve is closed, restricting flow of fluid from the chamber to the reservoir, and the pump is not pumping. The actuator can be operated in a third state in which the control valve is closed and the pump is pumping fluid from the reservoir into the chamber in order to advance the piston.
