The present invention provides a reverse opening type slide fastener in which an upper slider and a lower slider can be held at a bottom end of a box pin when an insert pin is pulled out of the upper slider and the lower slider and separated therefrom. The reverse opening type slide fastener (10) has a separable bottom end stop (22) including a box pin (40) provided consecutively from a bottom end of a right element row (13) disposed on a side edge of a right fastener stringer (17), an insert pin (30) provided consecutively from the bottom end of a left element row (12) disposed on a side edge of a left fastener stringer (16), an upper slider (50) which enables the slide fastener to be opened upward and a lower slider (60) which enables the slide fastener to be opened in a reverse direction. A stopper (46) for preventing the lower slider (60) from slipping off is provided at the bottom end of the box pin (40). A first engaging portion (44) is formed on an opposite side edge opposite to the insert pin (30) of the box pin (40) and a second engaging portion (34) is formed on an opposite side edge opposite to the box pin (40) of the insert pin (30) so as to position the insert pin (30) in a downward direction when the second engaging portion engages the first engaging portion (44). A projecting portion (48) which makes contact with the inner face of the blade of the upper slider (50) so as to suppress a free sliding of the upper slider (50) is formed on at least any one of a front side face and a rear side face opposite to the inner face of the blade of the upper slider (50) of the box pin (40).

A reverse-separating device for a slide fastener, comprises a retainer pin (5), a separable pin (6) both made of metal and a reverse-separating slider (3). Each of the retainer pin (5) and the separable pin (6) is of a U-shaped cross-section and has a slit (18) formed along its front edge. At the lower end of the slit (18), the retainer pin (5) projects rearward beyond the slit (18) to thus provide a loop-like stopper (22) for engagement with the flange (31) of the reverse-separating slider (3). Once the retainer pin (5) is inserted into the reverse-separating slider (3), the retainer pin (5) is firmly retained by three parts of the reverse-separating slider (3). The separable pin (6) has a projecting ledge (28) formed on the upper end the projecting fin (27) so as to project laterally therefrom. The projecting ledge (28) of the separable pin (6) is adapted to abut against the upper end of the projecting fin (25) of the retainer pin (5) and thus prevent the separable pin (6) from moving further into the reverse-separating slider (3).

The box pin (4, 82, 92) has a box pin body (41, 83, 93), a stopper portion (42) arranged at a front end side of the box pin body (41, 83, 93), and suppressing portions (43, 84, 94) projected on at least one of upper and lower surfaces of the box pin body (41, 83, 93) to suppress sliding of the second slider (6b). Further, the box pin body (41, 83, 93) has a body region (41a, 83a, 93a), and a notched region (41b, 83b, 93b) arranged at an element-row-side base end portion and having excluded a side surface portion at a side facing the insert pin. The suppressing portions (43, 84, 94) are projected in only the notched region (41b, 83b, 93b).
