摘要： An inflatable umbrella (100) has an inflatable covering (105) made from a flexible material. In an inflated state, said covering forms at least the following elements: a central holding element (110), at least three umbrella strut elements (115, 120, 125, 130) extending away from the central holding element, and at least one umbrella surface element (135, 140, 145, 150) stretched out by the umbrella strut elements. In this case, the central holding element (110) and each umbrella strut element are supported against each other at the respective contact point thereof. In the inflated state, the umbrella (100) has greater stability and resistance to external forces in comparison to previously known inflatable umbrellas.

摘要： @ According to the invention a garden or sun umbrella is provided with spring means (8) for automatically opening the umbrella. In a preferred embodiment the spring (8) is a gas spring mounted inside the central post (1) of the umbrella and is operatively connected to a collar (7) slidably mounted on the post and which in turn is connected via struts (6) to the arms (2) of the umbrella, by means of a flexible cord (11) connected at its opposite ends to the collar and reeved around pulley blocks (9,10) at opposite ends of the gas spring. After manually initiating the opening of the umbrella by pivoting the arms, in the collapsed position, away from the post, the opening action is completed automatically by the action of the spring (8). Closing of the umbrella is effected by downward pressure on the arms of the umbrella against the action of the spring.

摘要： In a protection umbrella at least one protecting element (2) has a stretched, funnel-shaped membrane having, in its protection position, a polygonal, in particular square, contour and lying in a minimal rotation surface (12). The protection membrane is located below a membrane holder (6) composed essentially of free-slanding ribs (22) arranged on a supporting mast (4) and can be moved between the protection position and a folded position by a protection driving motor (49) accommodated inside the supporting mast (4). Segmented or plane bodies (55) are installed on the sides of the ribs (22) farthest from the screen membrane (10). When the membrane holder (6) is in the folded position, the segmented or planar bodies (58) surround at least the upper part of the folded protection membrane (10) to form an essentially closed protective sheath (59). The segmented or planar bodies (58) can be provided with solar cells which supply an energy store (52) arranged in a console (5) of the umbrella support (3) so that the protecting element (2) with its independent energy supply can be opened or closed by remote radio-control.

摘要： The presently disclosed umbrella device accomplishes both automatic opening, as accomplished by the previous art (but by a means different from that of the prior art) and in addition discloses a means by which the automatic closing of the umbrella can be accomplished (by a means not disclosed in the prior art). Novel mechanical means are used to open and close the umbrella without the need to move the hand from its normal position on the handle (13 or 58), the normal carrying position. A preferred embodiment of the invention uses compressed gas in an ampule (23) to extend a spring (7) provided for the opening of the umbrella (1) while extending the telescoped handle cylinders (9 and 5) which closes the umbrella. The preferred embodiment also features a sleeve (12) which can simultaneously exhaust gas to atmosphere through the port (18) while releasing the mechanical latch (34) to allow a spring (7) to telescope the handle cylinders (5 and 9) and deploy the umbrella canopy (11).
