摘要:
The invention relates to devices, systems and methods exploiting capacitive means for monitoring and analysing teeth-related parameters in a subject, such as the dental occlusion profile and/or the load/force applied upon clenching. The device comprises a body such as a bite fork or bite splint, capacitive sensor(s) incorporated within a soft substrate reversibly deformable once bitten by a subject and a micro-controller unit. The teeth contact points and forces applied upon occlusion are measured via the sensors, delivered to and re-elaborated by the micro-controller unit and possibly sent and visualized in a graphical/numerical fashion on e.g. a display screen.

An intraoral interface pressure measurement system which is useful for estimating the pressure and pressure transients produced by oral tissues. The intraoral interface pressure measurement system comprises a modified MEMS pressure sensor (21) in a conformable semisolid body (20) which measures the pressure applied by the selected tissue to other surfaces within the oral cavity, and communicates this and other data to a control means (3) which in turn wirelessly communicates the data to a remote data logger (11).

The present invention provides a evaluating system of masticatory efficiency comprising, a first step of allowing a human subject to masticate an artificial food material containing microparticles that are finely crushed and ground by mastication and keep a spherical shape unless they are masticated; a second step of enlarging the artificial food material having been thus masticated by applying pressure to a thickness equal to the diameter of the microparticles while sandwiching the artificial food material between two preparation sheets; and a third step of counting microparticles keeping the spherical shape that remain in the artificial food material having been enlarged between the two preparation sheets by applying pressure. By using this evaluating system in the invention, the masticatory efficiency can be evaluated well in precise and at short time without using a solvent and expensive instruments.

The present invention has application in Medicine, Neurology, Stomatology, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery and Gerontology, using electronics nanotechnology and biomechanics technologies. This invention comprises a bionic device of transduction of the mastication pressure into an electrical stimulus, capable of being perceived by the organism in the form of a nociceptive stimulus, which triggers the organism an appropriate motor response of defense or decrease of muscle contraction. Provides a generating device of nociceptive stimulus able to stimulate the brain areas related to chewing, modulating the muscular response thus avoiding the problems of overload during the process of chewing or in sleeping, involuntary movements called parafunctions of chewing, which translates to sharply wear down the dental crowns, also called bruxism. A preferred implementation includes driver (1), interface with the nervous structures (2), prosthetic pillar (3, 4), and processing device and force transducer (5).

The invention relates to a device for determining the force and path of a moving body or the parts thereof as objects. The inventive device comprises a housing (1) provided with sensors (2, 3) which are arranged therein and incorporated in flexible plastic bodies (5, 6, 10, 11, 12). Said sensors (2, 3) are excited by means of a motion or force initiator (4) and a compensation plate (15) in such a way that corresponding values are accurately transmitted, wherein measurement important components, in particular the sensors (2, 3), are permanently protected against gas and liquid effects. In such a way, the invention makes it possible to deliver a hygienically perfect device.

The invention relates to a method for determining the set relative position of a patient in a dental panorama X-ray apparatus (10) during which the curvature of a front area (72, 74) of a dental arch (68, 70) of a patient is determined. Set position coordinates for the patient are calculated based on this curvature and on a projection arch surface (88). In addition, the curvature of a middle area (76, 78) and/or of a rear area (80, 82) of the dental arch (68, 70) is determined and is taken into consideration during the calculation of the position coordinates. During a method for determining the set path of a diagnostic unit (20), the curvature of a front area (72, 74) of a dental arch (68, 70) of a patient is determined and is fixed at a location in the X-ray apparatus located within the space scanned by an X-ray source (14) and by a detector unit (16). In addition, the curvature of a middle area (76, 78) and/or of a rear area (80, 82) of the dental arch is determined and a set path curve for the diagnostic unit (20) is calculated based on the measured curvatures. The invention also relates to a device suited for carrying out the aforementioned method.

A system for measuring tongue pressure comprising a thin palate floor plate (1) whose shape matches with the shape of the palate, thin pressure sensor sheets (2a, 2a, 2b) having a plurality of pressure sensing cells secured to the lower surface of the palate floor plate (1), an attaching means (3) for attaching the palate floor plate (1) to a proper position in the palate, and a cable (4) for transmitting information from the pressure sensing cells of the pressure sensor sheets (2a, 2a, 2b) to an apparatus outside the palate. The cable (4) is led out of the palate extending around the back of the final gum tooth and passing along the vestibule of the palate when the palate floor plate (1) is attached in the palate. Each of the pressure sensor sheets (2a, 2a, 2b) comprises two resin backings structured in one body and each having a plurality of electrodes covered with a pressure-sensitive ink layer on one side of the backing. Between the backings, air is contained gastightly. The electrodes are opposed to each other via the pressure-sensitive ink. Each pressure sensing cell is constituted by the opposed electrodes and the portion corresponding to the pressure-sensitive ink layer.
