An accomodating lens (1) where a polyspheric optic (2) is moveable relative to the outer ends of the extended portions (4). The lens (1) comprises an optic (2) made from a flexible material combined with extended portions (4) that are capable of multiple flexions without breaking. The optic (2) with a single focal point has a central area (3) of increased power of less than 1.0 diopter to aid near vision. A method is disclosed of implanting the present lens (1) in the non-dominant eye of a patient.

An ophthalmic lens system for improving the vision of a patient comprising first and second ophthalmic lenses. Each of these lenses is adapted for implantation in an eye or to be disposed on or in the cornea. The first ophthalmic lens is biased for distance vision and the second ophthalmic lens is biased for intermediate vision. The ophthalmic lenses may be intraocular lenses which are implanted in the eyes of a patient without removal of the natural lens.
An apparatus, such as lenses, a system and a method for providing custom ocular aberrations that provide higher visual acuity. The apparatus, system and method include inducing rotationally symmetric aberrations along with an add power in one eye and inducing non-rotationally symmetric aberrations along with an add power in the other eye to provide improved visual acuity at an intermediate distance.
A binocular lens system for improving the vision of a patient including first and second ophthalmic lenses. Each of these lenses is adapted for implantation in an eye or to be disposed on or in the cornea. The first lens is biased for distance vision and the second ophthalmic lens is biased for near vision. The ophthalmic lenses may be intraocular lenses which are implanted in the eyes of a patient following removal of the natural lens.
