摘要: A multi flow multi venting nipple (10) includes a teat having a flow aperture (16) which allows for at least two different flow rates depending upon the operative radial orientation of the nipple. The nipple (10) further includes a number of vent apertures (26) , equal to the number of flow rates, formed by check valves extending through the nipple to reduce negative pressure during use. Each vent aperture (26) is associated with a particular flow rate, and is radially oriented to be uppermost and vertically above the flow aperture during use at such flow rate. All vent apertures (26) will be operable at once. The nipple further includes safety walls (30) extending from the nipple and surrounding at least half the periphery of each check valve forming the vent apertures (26). The safety wall (30) prevents unintentional and rough contact from damaging the check valves.

摘要: A flow control element (e.g., a baby bottle nipple or a child sippy cup flow control valve) that includes a tube-like wall section defining a flow channel, and a substantially flat membrane supported by the wall section such that membrane impedes flow through the flow channel to an external region. The membrane punctured to form multiple, substantially round pinholes arranged in two-dimensional pattern that remain closed to prevent fluid flow under normal atmospheric conditions, and open to facilitate fluid flow rate through the membrane under an applied pressure differential (e.g., when sucked on by a child). The wall section has greater rigidity than the membrane (which is formed from a relatively highly elastic material). Different sized pinholes are produced using different sized pins, thereby facilitating different flow rates in response to different applied pressure differentials. The pinholes are generated while stretching the membrane in a radial direction.

摘要: The peristaltic teat is a cleanable teat which rewards the baby for making the same natural peristaltic tongue movement it makes at the mother's breast. The reward is that the baby gets (more) milk when making the correct movement. The consequence is that the baby will use the same drinking mechanism as at the breast. Hence bottle feeding will become closer to breast feeding which makes the combination of bottle feeding and breast feeding easier.

In the closed position, fluid is prevented from passage through the one or more apertures (22) into the teat (16) and air is prevented from passing between the base flange (38) and regulator cap (16) into the bottle (10).
