摘要: In general, the methods and exercise systems disclosed herein help to ensure a more fair competition in a race between two or more individuals or a race between a single individual and a previous performance by that individual. A competition equalization device, which may be worn on any part of a body of an individual competing in a race, can receive data concerning one or more conditions that may affect the performance of an individual in a competition. This data may be sent to a processing unit, which may analyze the data from two or more competition equalization devices and determine whether a competitive advantage or disadvantage exists for any participant in the competition. If a competitive advantage or disadvantage is found, the processing unit may determine an appropriate remedy.

摘要: Exercise systems and methods are provided that create and run exercise programs that are custom tailored to individual users. An exercise program for a specific user is based upon the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate. The exercise programs may include a series of workouts for the user to perform. Each workout requires the user to exercise at various intensity levels so that the user's heart rate moves between different predetermined target heart rate zones. The target heart rate zones are calculated from data relating to the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate. As the user's fitness level changes, the user's average work heart rate and recovery heart rate also change. Creation of new exercise programs uses the most current heart rate data to calculate the target heart rate zones, thereby continuously tailoring the exercise programs to the user.

摘要: A consumer based novel personal exercise apparatus that allows simultaneous simulation of mild to high altitude environments with algorithmically driven novel additional environmental stressors that may be pre-programmed or personally developed via physiological feedback during training. Additional stressors include the ability to transiently alter chamber pressure at variable frequencies and amplitudes with a range of changes with the option of random pressure oscillations designed to personalize training programs. Additional stressors include small variations in inspired CO2 levels and temperature allowing individuals to stimulate breathing and temperature conditions in preparation for desired environmental conditions.

摘要: An exercise treadmill is disclosed. The treadmill can be constructed with no obstructing front rails, with one or more side rails, and/or with a structural flat or ramped surface at the front allowing the user to exercise with unconstrained motion. The treadmill can further include one or more accommodations to help the user stay safe, remain longitudinally centered, and/or adjust speed with controls built into the treadmill, or automatically based on body position relative to sensors built into the side rails. The treadmill belt may be motor driven, or be user driven and dynamically moderated by resistance. The treadmill configuration can be utilized to provide a virtualized exercise experience for the user.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for controlling a training device, comprising the following steps: providing a defined room atmosphere in a training room (28), in which a training device (2) is located; determining a respiratory quotient of a test subject (3) using the training device (2) in the training room (28); and using the respiratory quotient of the test subject (3) as an input variable for controlling the training device (2). The method is characterized in that the room atmosphere in the training room (28) has a constant oxygen content, which is in the range of 22 to 32 volume percent, and that a specifiable power equivalent of the training device (2) in a range of 50 to 80 watts is varied according to the respiratory quotient of the test subject (3) in such a way that the respiratory quotient of the test subject (3) assumes a value in a range of 0.77 to 0.85. The invention further relates to a device for providing a defined room atmosphere having an oxygen content of 22 to 32 volume percent in a training room (28).
