    摘要： The invention relates to a device (1') for creating a visual marker in the grass (3') on a golf course. The device comprises a base (5') configured to be steadily anchored in the ground under the grass (3') and an elongated marker (7') connected to the base (5'). The marker (7') is configured to be movable between an upright position in which the marker (7') extends away from the grass (3') and a lying position in which at least part of the marker (7') extends along the grass (3'). The marker (7') is configured to be brought from the upright position to the lying position when driven over by a lawnmower and return to the upright position after having been driven over. The marker (7') comprises a plurality of separate-standing bendable elongated elements (12) which are configured to be movable between said upright and lying position and to allow blades of grass to penetrate between adjacent elongated elements (12) in the lying position.

    摘要： A method for using visual indicia for teaching a student proper alignment and club selection for each of a plurality of different positions of a ball for a golf type game in which the ball is struck with a club toward a target. The method includes positioning sets of markers at different distances from the target wherein each distance is chosen to represent a particular type of stroke to be made with a club. Other markers are positioned on the putting green to represent a landing spot for a ball struck from a location off of the putting green. Thereafter, directional arrows are positioned along a preferential path for a ball to travel in order to reach the target. The student is aligned with the markers and arrows to create a visual reference to associate with the striking of the ball.

The holes (3) are illuminated internally by means of a light source, and the flagpoles (24) are designed as removable illuminating poles, such that the hole (3) remains lit even after removal of the flagpole. On a golf course equipped in this manner, the game of golf is played with an illuminating golf ball. The length of time it is possible to play on a golf course is extended substantially, and a highly attactive ambience is created on the course.

    摘要： A method and apparatus is employed in determining the green-speed of a golf putting green. The method is achieved by selecting a site on a putting green having a relatively flat surface and determining the extent of putting surface available for measurements, setting a green-speed reading apparatus including a ramp, which includes a raised start end and a ground contacting release end with at least one golf ball rolling track thereon, in a first direction whereby the release end of the ramp contacts the putting green surface at the selected site, selecting one of two predetermined start positions for a golf ball based upon the extent of putting surface available for measurements and retaining the golf ball at the selected start position in the track, the start position being at the raised start end of the track, releasing the golf ball from the start position, allowing the golf ball to roll down the track by gravity onto the putting green surface, measuring the distance the golf ball rolls across the putting green from the release end of the ramp, repeating the test with the apparatus facing in the opposite direction at the selected site and measuring the distance the golf ball rolls across the putting green from the release end of the ramp, and calculating the average distance of all the golf balls rolled to determine a value in terms of green-speed.
