摘要： In an aspect, a scooter is provided and includes a main body, a steering column, a front wheel unit and a rear wheel unit. The steering unit has a top and a bottom and is connected to the main body at a point intermediate the top and bottom. The front wheel unit is pivotally mounted proximate the bottom and includes first and second front wheels that are laterally spaced from one another. The front wheel unit supports the main body at least partially through the steering column. The steering column has first and second portions. The second portion extends towards the bottom from the first portion at a downward and rearward oblique angle relative to a vertical axis, so as to define a front wheel unit pivot axis. The steering unit is pivotable in a lateral-vertical plane to pivot the front wheel unit so as to steer the scooter.

Trucks have two axles or axes, two primary wheels, and two secondary wheels, and skateboards have eight wheels, four in front and four at the rear portion of the skateboard. In various embodiments, the secondary wheels are located outboard of the primary wheels. Further, in a number of embodiments, the axis of rotation or axle of the primary wheels remains parallel to that of the secondary wheels, whether the skateboard is going straight or turning.
