摘要: According to one embodiment, a sheet processing method of a sheet processing apparatus having a plurality of processing modes includes taking in sheets (P) one by one from a bundle (55) of the sheets in which a batch card (53) having identification information (531, 532), and the sheets (P) as mediums to be inspected are piled, conveying the sheet (P) which has been taken in, discriminating a kind of the batch card (53), switching the processing mode of the sheet processing apparatus (100) based on the kind of the batch card (53) which has been discriminated, discriminating and counting the sheets (P) subsequent to the batch card (53), storing a count result of the sheets (P) in correlation with the identification information (531, 532), and sorting the sheet (P) in a stacker based on a result of discrimination of the sheet (P).

摘要: An article sorting machine includes image data acquisition means, variation image generation means, identifying means, and control means, in order to improve identification ratio of an article in a resupply process. The image data acquisition means acquires an image of a target object as a target object image data. The variation image generation means generates variation image data similar to the target object image data. The identifying means determines whether or not identification of the target object is possible by comparing a target object secondary image data acquired by imaging the target object again with the target object image data, by comparing the target object image data with the variation image data. The control means executes processing for identifying the target object based on the determination result of the identifying means.

摘要: A method and system are provided for uniquely assigning identifications for a plurality of mail pieces, before physically sorting the mail pieces that will subsequently be mailed. Each of these identifications includes a sequential part, and each of the mail pieces includes postal destination information indicative of a destination area sort level. Preferably, not only that destination area sort level is included, but also at least one wider destination area sort level. The present invention entails determining whether a current mail piece has postal destination information indicative of the same destination area as a previously processed mail piece. If the destination area is the same, then the sequential part is assigned to the current mail piece, such that the sequential part is monotonically different from the sequential part of the previous mail pieces having the same destination area.

摘要: The method for processing postal items comprises forming a digital image (10) of the surface of a current item for recognising by OCR a postal address of the addressee for said item, and if it is determined that the recognised address of the addressee corresponds to an incorrect address of addressee, applying (14) on the surface of the current item a redirection address. Besides the redirection address, the method comprises applying on the surface of the current item a mark (M) that can be detected by OCR, said mark indicating that the current item bears a redirection address, and said mark also defining an index for recovering said redirection address in a database.

摘要: A bar code reader (12) performs a double-printing detecting process to determine whether or not a plurality of bar codes are overprinted based on an image containing a bar code read by a scanner (13). The bar code reader (12) determines that the recognition result of the bar code is ineffective information when it is detected by the overprinting detecting process that a plurality of bar codes are overprinted and outputs the recognition result of the bar code to a control portion (10) when it is not detected by the overprinting detecting process that a plurality of bar codes are overprinted.

摘要: In a process for sorting items of mail, the items of mail are sorted according to machine-readable codes on the items of mail. According to the invention, the process is characterised in that the machine-readable code is generated in such a way that it contains at least two data tracks, in that one of the data tracks is designed in such a way that it contains a control clock, and in that the machine-readable code is analysed taking into account the control clock. Also disclosed are a device suitable for implementing the process and an items of mail provided with a machine-readable code.
