摘要:
The invention relates to a method for producing a component for a heat engine, especially for producing a component for a turbine, a compressor or an expander, according to which a blank of the component is machined by erosion at least in sections, and the surface produced by erosion is finished by barrel polishing and/or electropolishing in such a way that the recast layer created by the erosion is completely removed at least in sections. The invention also relates to a component for a heat engine, produced by means of said method.
摘要:
A method of machining a work-piece formed of titanium-based material, using a machining apparatus 10, is described. The method includes the steps of providing an electrically-conductive electrode 14 contained within a spindle assembly 12, in a preselected distance and position relative to the titanium-based work-piece 16; while electrically powering the electrode and the work-piece with a power supply 22. In the process, fluid electrolyte is circulated through at least two pathways in the machining apparatus - an internal conduit 32 within the spindle assembly; and an external conduit 34. The charged electrode is moved relative to the work-piece in a plunging motion, to remove material from the work-piece at a relatively high rate, using a highspeed electro-erosion (HSEE) process.
摘要:
An apparatus and methpd for hybrid machining a workpiece is disclosed. The workpiece (50) is powered as an anode, a cutter (14) is powered as a cathode and a cutting fluid or coolant is circulated therebetween. The cutter is made of a conductive material and a non-conductive abrasive material. The hybrid machine (10) performs a roughing pass machining operation in.which material is removed from the workpiece at a relatively high rate using a high-speed electro-erosion (HSEE) process. Then, the hybrid machine performs a finish pass machining operation in which material is removed from the workpiece using precision electro-grinding (PEG) process at a different differential electrical potential and/or flushing rate than the roughing pass machining operation to provide a smooth finish without thermal effects on the workpiece.
